Huge thanks to the fantastic turn out to our two weekend sales. Even with the cold weather (although perfect knitwear weather of course) we had a lot of visitors. It was nice talking to people.
See you next year.

A Wooley Welcome for Prince Charles
http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/Video-Prince-Charles-in-Bradford.6636589.jp
Prince Charles visited Bradford yesterday and received a warm welcome, above link to the Yorkshire Post article. We hope that he stopped and looked at some of our yarns during his visit to Bradford City Hall where the "Campaign for Wool" display was held from the local textile industry.
"The prince praised sheep farmers and the rural culture they support. "Up and down the United Kingdom – and indeed in many other countries – they are the backbone of the countryside. They support a way of life that not only maintains the wonderful landscape so that others can enjoy it but also a rural culture which in so many ways defines national identity. I think we need to do all we can to ensure that these hardy souls, hefted like their sheep, get the price that they deserve for the work they do."
The support was welcomed. Frank Langrish, chairman of the British Wool Marketing World, said: "All the major wool producing countries in the world are working together on this."

ARAN AND CHUNKY KNITS
All the High Street stores are following the chunky/aran/Nordic trend in knitwear. Yes I agree it is easy to go and just buy one but think of the self-satisfaction of knitting one for yourself, plus the quality will be excellent!
We have Arans and Chunky patterns galore. I recently featured the Wendy Pampas collection booklet, all on trend and easyknits, booklet 331. We also have new leaflets coming out shortly. A good Aran family collection is booklet 332. The above image is from a High Street store but our booklet features cardigans, jumpers, scarves etc and you can knit an oversize unisex cardigan for yourself.
During these long winter evenings give yourself a treat, snuggle up and get knitting.

Vintage Knits and Inspiration
Featured recently on several television programmes and in magazines is the wonderful inspiration from the "Mad Men" USA drama. Set in the 1960's the costume designer Janie Bryant has created designs from vintage and newly made. But the knitwear has inspired a trend on the high street.
Here at Wendy Wools we have a wonderful selection of Vintage Patterns and we have been put together 20 designs in our Vintage Knits Booklet number 335.
Ideas for making a simple Vintage jumper bang on trend would be to add bows or even simple stitching or ribbon - Happy Knitting!
